Welcome to Townshend Lights. We are located in Hastings, hawkes Bay, New Zealand.
We are Hastings' first and only* computerised Christmas Light display. Animating a Christmas display brings in a whole new element of wonder to the already fantastic seasonal experience that is Christmas lighting. (*As at 2010, There are 3 in Hawkes Bay).
There is quite a bit involved in doing this which is why I started this website and why I started Christmasdisplays.co.nz.
The online community I started back in 2006 where like minded people teach, learn and advise on all aspects of Christmas lighting from small basic displays to full blown computer driven animated displays.

Days of operation 3rd Dec - 2nd Jan. Though it is possible the lights are turned off anytime after Christmas day. The times are 8.30pm to 11.30pm.
Display Behavior
We are happy to have you as a guest to view the display and ask you to please use common sense. Don't honk your horn, do not block the street or driveways, don't be rude, etc. Do not use driveways to turn around.
As we are in a Cul-De-Sac space is at a premium so please park courteously.
If you have a particularly noisy vehicle, it would really help us keep neighborhood peace if you didn't idle it for long periods of time. If you can shut it off for awhile, that would make our neighbours happy.
Also, please avoid honking horns (whether to show appreciation, or other reasons), car horns can really get on our neighbour's nerves!
